Suicide Squad – Official Trailer

Warner Bros. has released the newest trailer–in its ever growing DC movie universe–for the Suicide Squad. The trailer is chocked full of all-new footage from the film. It also takes more of a humorous tone in its marketing this time around by opening the reel with the classic Queen hit song “Bohemian Rhapsody” (smart move). This is in contrast to the epic-opera vibe of the original trailer that was released a few months ago.

For fans looking to see much more of Jared Leto playing the Joker, the trailer delivers. Though, for those fans that aren’t in love with the look of this re-imagined “Mr. J” (including this writer) opinions may not be changed. Leto almost seems to have to talk around his grillz, which comes off a bit awkward. However, the on-the-button tone conveyed in the sneak peaks we do get may sway some to look passed the updated appearance.

The powers and personalities of the team are more clearly put on display along with the feistiness you would expect from a group of dangerous villains.

Violent encounters and tomfoolery will be abound for this motley crew of characters.

Plot Synopsis:

“It feels good to be bad…Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?”

Suicide Squad is being distributed by Warner Bros. and will be simultaneously released in the US and UK on August 5th.
